Thank you from the Community Garden
As a Community Charity we are incredibly lucky to be helped by many people. Over and above our Volunteers who make the Garden happen, and all those who participate in the events and activities we run there are people who give their time and money.
In 2018 Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden was awarded Best Community Garden by West Lothian Council.

Many thanks to the Conservation Foundation for the Pennard Plants seed potatoes and onion sets that we were awarded. Their Wyevale Tool Amnesty provided us with much needed tools at the start of our project.
Thank you to pupils from Parkhead Primary School who designed posters to promote the Community Garden and put them on lamposts around the school.
Many thanks to Property Matters in East Calder for their donation of handrails for the bathroom and T.T. Testing Ltd for our PAT Testing.
2015 - Many Dates - Hugh Clarkson from ARC
Pallets for everything from potting benches to furniture.
2014 November - Dougie from Smiddy Fabrication West Calder
Dougie and Kenny cut our palisade fencing bits to size and brought them back to site. They also sourced the locking bolts to allow us to fix the fence. At very short notice on the day of installation they re drilled the fish plates to allow them to fit.
2014 Ian Stewart - Stewart Garden Services
When we first took over the Garden for Life Site the palisade fence has six panels missing. Ian very generously donated all the uprights and cross pieces to allow this to be repaired with the help of the RBS teams.
2014 Chris Peach - The Conservation Volunteers
This year Chris has brought several Royal Bank of Scotland Volunteer Groups on site to help with some of our larger projects such as building paths and the bike shed installing waymarkers, making pallet furniture and fixing the Palisade fence. These groups also bring some funding with them which helps our grant money go much further. Thank you.
2014 Anne Youngman - Bat Conservation Trust
A big thank you to Anne for helping us set up our Bat group, advising us on Bat monitors and coming and doing several Bat walks with us, free of charge.
For our Halloween Event she also let us borrow several Bat costumes, banners and puppets.
