About the Community Garden
Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden SCIO is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
Garden for Life, Parkhead Farm, Limefield Road, West Calder, EH55 8BQ.
You can find directions to the garden at Google Maps.
On 28th February 2013 we were awarded charitable status as a SCIO, a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. In June 2013 we signed a 5-year lease with West Lothian Council to take on the former Polbeth Market Garden site. We now have a 25 year lease and additional land on the other side of the new West Calder High School road. We have transformed the derelict site into a thriving garden and visitor attraction hosting the first official Scottish Stick Man trail.
We regularly discuss with local people their ideas about how the garden should be used. The project is always developing. You can find out more by visiting Polbeth and West Calder Community Garden SCIO on Facebook.
